Turbinal hypertrophy

Turbinal hypertrophy is the enlargement of the size of the inferior turbinates, structures found inside the nose, generally causing nasal congestion or obstruction.

The increase in the size of the inferior turbinates is a very frequent reason for consulting the otorhinolaryngologist.

The symptoms that usually give are a stuffy nose, difficulty breathing, headache, sinusitis, excessive secretion of mucus, decreased sense of smell, snoring, nasal pain, nosebleeds, plugged ears, etc.

Treatment depends on the severity of the problem and can me medical o surgical.
