Preauricular Fistula

Preauricular fistula is a congenital anomaly of the external ear with unilateral or bilateral presentation caused by a defective closure during embryonic formation.

Once it is infected for the first time, surgical treatment is suggested to remove it and prevent future infections.

However, it has a 50% recurrence depending on the surgical technique used, if it is operated while infected, etc.
